Management Control System (MCS)
I recommend you take care of the minutes,
for the hours will take care of themselves.

Philip Dormer Stanhope
Lord of Chesterfield (1694 - 1773)
Consociates become full-time mentors to first-line management.

As change agents, we work directly with all levels of management to develop and implement the short-interval management tools and first-line management behaviors of a Management Control System.

First-line management tools are built on the short-interval measurements of

  • activities
  • volumes
  • productivity-to-time relationships
    (work-to-time, rates)

First-line management behaviors are built on the short-interval habits of

  • planning
  • assigning
  • following-up (and reporting)

Integrated into these tools and behaviors are the abilities to

  • facilitate communication, delegation, and timely, consistent, credible reporting within and between departments
  • quantify and qualify current staffing requirements and forecast future requirements (including attendance and turnover)
  • quantify and qualify individual management effectiveness

Building on several base Management Control Systems, Consociates KJ works closely with management to customize tools that address the unique challenges of each individual department work environment.

However, no matter the eccentricities of client operations, short-interval management will result in decreased unit cost and increased service without additional capital expenditure.
