genetically engineered mice
Genetically engineered Atm mice at M. D. Anderson, Science Park-Research Division are now the subjects of intensive study into A-T and also, the diseases of aging.
Judy Butler, Shirley and Jack Howard observe a colony of genetically engineered ATm mice at Science Park.
Wouldn't it be a miracle to at least find something to slow down the relentless progress of A-T? A-T is one of the most brutal genetic conditions on the face of the planet Earth. Is it possible to find anything capable of at least slowing its ever-continuing devastation? The answer on both counts is a resounding “yes”!

As a friend and supporter of The A-T Project, you have made it possible for our researchers to purchase the equipment and supplies necessary to do their important research. The fact is that research costs are extremely high, not even counting salaries, which we don't generally have to pay.

Please continue to consider The A-T Project when budgeting your charitable contributions. What we offer is Bang for the Buck!!! The Alzheimer's Foundation, The American Cancer Society, The Lung Association, The Heart Association, The Diabetes Foundation, Easter Seals and Muscular Dystrophy are examples of excellent medical charities. However, what we offer is support of research that affects all of these diseases and many more, but without the overhead costs. Each tax-deductible dollar you give goes directly for research.

To support the researchers, our biggest need is to cover the considerable costs of breeding, genotyping, housing and feeding A-T experimental mice. Because of the nature of A-T, breeding and caring for each A-T mouse costs several hundred dollars. Our researchers have many more ideas to test than they have mice with which to test them. Your dollars will help produce more mice as quickly as possible.
