Maintaining good sitting posture is the first step towards achieving good spine health. Bad sitting positions can literally and eventually cripple your body if you choose to ignore the fast developing symptoms like back pain, sore necks and shoulders and lower back pains. They could develop into more severe ailments like carpal tunnel syndrome and other repetitive strain injuries when ignored. The solution to correct bad sitting posture is essentially with ergonomic desk chairs.
That said, there are more ways than one in maintaining good spine health. You can start from having less load off your back. What this means is that you should lighten your backpacks or handbags whenever you make a trip out as this is would lessen the strain on your back and spine.
Also when seated at your work station, it is important to adjust the height of your work chair to level comfortably with your desk. Adjust the computer screen to fit your angle of view so that you do not get sore neck and shoulders from over straining the body, preventing headaches and backaches from recurring.
Another tip you could use is that you should get up from your work desk and move about more often. When you keep working a group of muscles for instance, hunched over the desk on paperwork, your arms, neck and shoulders are strained. You need to get up and do some simple stretching exercises to restore them back to a relaxed mode. Or your eyes could be tired from staring the computer screen over an extended number of hours. Without a break, your eyes will be tired, teary and your mind foggy to say the least. It is indeed time to take a break too. In fact, to avoid computer strained eyes, you need take a ten minute break away from your computer screens every hour to rejuvenate your tired eyes.
